According to The Norman Transcript, a new Starbucks store will be opening in the OU Memorial Union on October 1. Starbucks only recently announced the closings of 600 stores nationwide, so this announcement comes as a bit of a surprise, especially with the recently opened Campus Corner store remaining.
The new Union store will be a franchise, owned by OU, with proceeds returning to Starbucks. The new coffee shop will replace STA Travel near Crossroads.

We did it! We’ve survived our first year together, and now we get to eat our cake!
So, what’s new? We’ve experienced a military ball, moved into a new place, got a new addition to our family, and made silly faces.
Ashleigh, Lexi, Clancy & I just got home from a 4-day trip to Texarkana, TX, to see Ashleigh’s parents. While we were there, we had a garage sale (and saved two lamps for Erin & Andy) to raise money for Ashleigh’s new laptop fund. The sale didn’t go as well as expected, but we did alright and had a good time seeing her parents.
Now, we’re just glad to be home.

Thanks to Ashleigh’s dad and my dad, Ashleigh and I are moved into our new place. It’s a duplex with 250 more square feet (plus a one-car garage), and the cats love it. We’re exhausted, but we’re headed over to the old place today to clean get it ready to turn in the keys.
Pictures are here.
Friday, aka Moving Day, is getting close. I’ve been on the phone for the past 2 days getting service accounts (water, gas, electricity, etc.) transferred to the new address. Meanwhile, Ashleigh’s been packing away, and making great progress.
Ashleigh’s dad, Jeff, arrives in town Friday evening to start helping us move the smaller stuff to our new place. Saturday will be the big day: moving all the furniture and boxes. Cox is supposed to come out Saturday too. They’ve rescheduled the last 3 times, but I’m hoping Saturday’s the day they come through.
