OU v. Texas weekend

Last weekend, Sarah & I took a much-needed vacation to the Dallas area for the Red River Rivalry weekend. We stayed at a great Hilton hotel in Duncanville, which was about 15 miles away from the Texas State Fair. Instead of spending around $300 per ticket, we decided to go the Fair itself and spend our money on drinks & rides. We watched the game on a screen right outside the stadium, ate corn dogs & funnel cakes, had a few beers, and rode a ride.

Despite the outcome, Sarah & I had a really good time at the Fair, and a great weekend altogether.

Mid-semester update

It’s October. Already. And Fall. Where did the summer go?

My weekend class finished yesterday. I have an ‘A’ so far, and I think I did well on my final two assignments: a 20-page term paper and 1/2 of the final. I got an ‘A’ on the first 1/2 of the final, so I’m pretty optimistic about my performance on the second 1/2.

Sarah & I are getting pretty excited to take our trip to Texas on OU/TX weekend. We’re going to the Texas State Fair, and I’m excited to ride the Ferris wheel. And eat lots of ridiculous fried food. And watching the game outside the Cotton Bowl on the JumboTron.

The only thing exciting about Fall – besides the cooler temperatures – is the return of good TV shows. We’re watching some older favorites: The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, House, and Brothers & Sisters; but we’re also excited about some new TV shows: Modern Family, Flash Forward, and V (which starts next month). Fall television makes the rough school semester much smoother.
