Work (at school) has begun

Yesterday was the first ROTC detail of the semester, and school is still more than 2 weeks away! We had coordinated this detail in May – elevator operators for early move-in at OU.

The first early move-in day was for sorority rush & special circumstance… all this means: lots of sorority girls running around, recruiting and passing out free stuff to the new freshmen. OU had a DJ set up, along with a hospitality tent full of fruit, danishes, donuts, and the all-important coffee.

While the guys worked the elevators, I walked around from tower to tower, like a hall monitor. It’s surprising that college kids – ROTC college kids – can forget to drink water, eat something, etc. Sometimes I feel like a parent…

It was worth it, though… A reward for a job well done.
