Wow. I saw the first Hulk movie with Eric Bana and was less than impressed. Knowing that Hollywood fails more often than not with movies made from comic series, I went into The Incredible Hulk with low expectations: I didn’t expect Ed Norton to pull off the hero; I didn’t expect Tim Roth to be a good villain; nor did I expect Liv Tyler to be anything but an annoying distraction.
Lou Ferrigno’s cameo appearance was exciting. He still looks like he could kill a Tyrannosaurus.
Next up: The Happening.
Yesterday, Ashleigh had a (long-awaited) day off. After sleeping in, we headed to On The Border in Norman to have lunch. We both enjoyed the margaritas, and I made a mess. Then, we went to Penn Square Mall in the city. Ashleigh wanted to go shopping; I bought some new sandals (I know, finally).
Last night, Ashleigh & I met up with her friends Sarah & Megan. We hadn’t seen them since the wedding. Sarah was celebrating her birthday, so we met at Victoria’s Pasta on Campus Corner. The food was really good, and it wasn’t as expensive as I expected. After the pasta, we all came back to the apartment to hang out and have some wine.
It was great seeing old friends and getting to enjoy ourselves again.
Yesterday was a busy day for me and Ashleigh. We met up with our friends Aaron & Michelle at On The Border in Norman. They were in Oklahoma for Michelle’s family reunion. After that, we drove up to the city to have a birthday dinner with my dad and sisters. We ate at Old Chicago. That was the first time any of us had been there, and we all liked it a lot.
Today, it’s raining, and Ashleigh has to go to work. A golf tournament starts today, and for some reason her boss thinks that the tournament will start as scheduled, even though it’s been raining since midnight.
This afternoon I’m meeting up with Chris and his family as they travel back to Kansas from Texas. I haven’t seen him since 2005, so today will be nice.
