After seeing Clintus’s post about an easy and reliable iPhone 1.1.3 jailbreak, I had to try it out. Clintus used it to get his new iPhone working with T-Mobile, so I was fairly confident going into the jailbreaking process.
The steps to jailbreak are as follows (for Mac only, from 9to5 Mac):
- Upgrade your iPhone to version 1.1.3 using iTunes.
- Download and unzip the new iJailbreak.
- Quit iTunes and run iJailbreak with your iPhone plugged in (in normal mode, not recovery mode).
- Choose ‘Jailbreak’, then choose to either jailbreak it alone or unlock for use with other SIM cards.
- Wait 2 minutes - grab a coffee, use the restroom, etc. Done!
This method worked flawlessly for me, and it will for you, too!
Update: Thanks to Clintus, again, in the comments. Windows users click here to get your iPhone jailbroken.
I would get an IPHONE if its capabilities could be used here on Guam. It would be the most expensive cell phone/MP3 player I’ve bought if I ever got it. None of the other features including web browsing or navigation would work here on our little island.
Still, it looks great and is fun to play with. I have a couple buddies who bought the thing just to show it off when we go out. haha
Even though I blogged about that method, I didn’t realize it was for Mac only until I started to try it. I ended up using ZiPhone to do mine. Here is the link to the blog. It’s super simple cause you just check the boxes and run the app.
