Tomorrow is the first day of December. Next week is the last week of regular classes. Then finals. Then a 4-week break from school.
Christmas is just around the corner, and while Ashleigh is getting excited, I’m getting nervous. This is our first Christmas together, and things are tight. Usually, I have lots saved so I can give my family & friends many gifts, but this year’s gonna be different. Ashleigh says it’ll be okay, so I’m relying on her word to be enough.
After school lets out, Ashleigh and I are traveling to her parents’ house to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. We didn’t get to see her parents at Thanksgiving this year, so it’ll be nice to go spend a few days with them.
Tomorrow’s the big game. Go OU.

Today, Ashleigh and I met up with her family at Aunt Lana’s house for a good ol’ fashion Thanksgiving lunch. This year’s Thanksgiving was a little smaller than last year since Ashleigh’s parents and Uncle Bill couldn’t make the trip. We missed them, but we didn’t skip a beat with eating all the food!
The biggest addition to this year was little Hannah Lanae. This was her first Thanksgiving, and we decided to make it a great one. She was passed from lap to lap, and she sampled some of Lana’s famous Thanksgiving food. She loved it, and we loved playing with her.
Saturday, we’ll head to my Nana’s house for another Thanksgiving lunch dinner, this time with my side of the family. I’m already looking forward to eating turkey for a week.
Here are some photos from Lana’s house.

Today was the last day of school before Thanksgiving break. For me and Ashleigh, this is our first major holiday together as husband-and-wife. We’re both looking forward to the holidays this year.
Thursday, we’re going to Ashleigh’s family’s get-together in the city. Last year, roughly 30 people were there. This year, more of the same is expected. Friday, we’re heading to my dad’s side’s get-together, also in the city. Then Saturday, we’re going to my Nana’s get-together in Rush Springs. My aunt & uncle from Fort Worth are going to be there, and I haven’t seen my aunt since the wedding and my uncle since last winter.
I haven’t seen either of my grandparents since August. And I know Ashleigh hasn’t been able to hang out with some of her family like she’s wanted, so this Thanksgiving should be just the break from work/school that we need.

We definitely live in his house.
Right now, Ohio St. is leading Michigan 14-3 in the 3rd. Hopefully, the Wolverines will come back and win a big one at home.
I dropped Ashleigh off at her grandma’s on my way to my parents’ house. My dad asked if I’d help him out with some work on his antenna. He’s raising an antenna that will allow him to broadcast amateur television from the house.
Meanwhile, Mom is cooking lunch: hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill. I’ve been playing with Sammi, the family dog. Everytime I come over, she wants to play soccer. Seriously. She’s a great soccer player, better than some humans. And you can’t beat her enthusiasm.
I plan on getting some pics from the antenna-raising from Dad to put up on Flickr. Or I’ll persuade him to create his own Flickr account and link to them. Either way, I plan on getting some pics online by the end of the weekend.
Go Blue!
Update: So much for the comeback. Ohio St. will represent the Big 10 in the Rose Bowl.
Update #2: The pics are at Flickr.
