Time to leave

The day’s here. Today I report to headquarters to get this started. Tomorrow I catch a plane.

Don’t forget there’s a link on the main page to email Ashleigh for my address; she should have it in less than two weeks.

Comments will turned to moderated while I’m gone. Don’t worry: the comments will still be there when I get back, but I just don’t want any spam getting through.

I’ll see you in 4 months!

Dig

We all have a weakness

But some of ours are easy to identify. Look me in the eye,

and ask for forgiveness.

We’ll make a pact to never speak that word again.

Yes, you are my friend.

We all have something that digs at us,

at least we dig each other.

So when weakness turns my ego up

I know you’ll count on the me from yesterday.

If I turn into another

dig me up from under what is covering

the better part of me.

Sing this song

remind me that we’ll always have each other

when everything else is gone.

We all have a sickness

that cleverly attaches and multiplies

No matter how we try.

We all have someone that digs at us,

at least we dig each other.

So when sickness turns my ego up

I know you’ll act as a clever medicine.

If I turn into another,

dig me up from under what is covering

The better part of me.

Sing this song!

Remind me that we’ll always have each other

when everything else is gone.

Oh, each other when everything else is gone.

If I turn into another

dig me up from under what is covering

the better part of me.

Sing this song

remind me that we’ll always have each other

when everything else is gone.

Oh, each other when everything else is gone.

2 days before BCT

My ship date is getting awfully close! Tomorrow I report to 45th Infantry headquarters to finish my shipping paperwork, then later tomorrow I check into the hotel I’ll be staying in tomorrow night. Thursday morning I ship out!

Today I went to the Cingular store to suspend my account for the four months I’ll be gone. They started to give me some grief, but I quickly stopped that and got everything taken care of.

I still have to run around, get some final stuff before I leave… but other than that I’ll be watching TV, playing video games, and hanging out with family & friends.

After drill

I’m back… and I am tired.

My legs are worn out from all the running & standing and walking on concrete. I’m due for a shower.

First drill

Tomorrow morning. First drill. And I’m nervous.

I’ll be gone until Sunday night, spending the night down at the armory with no computer access. I don’t know what we’re going to do besides run, but I expect a few things already.

We booked the honeymoon tonight: off to Jamaica! I’ll be applying for a passport Monday morning. Ashleigh & I are already very excited. Thanks Dad!!

I’m off to bed; have a great weekend.
