Just a couple things. I started working for the restaurant again. The pay’s poor, the work’s hard… but it’s a job [for now].
My favorite hockey player is retiring… again. Barry Melrose wrote a great piece.
Bush actually thinks the NSA acted legally, justifying the illegal wiretaps with “they’re an effective weapon in the war on terror”. Even if the wiretaps yielded a 100% success rate, they would still be illegal. The Senate is holding hearings next month, and maybe they’ll actually come to a just conclusion for once. Said the great Ben Franklin:
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Kobe scored 81 points. He’s the most dominating player in the game right now. Of course, critics are saying he’s not dishing enough to his teammates… but they suck. Seriously. Enjoy being a fan & being alive when he has one of the best seasons ever. And if he gets the loser Lakers to the playoffs, somehow, then he deserves the MVP hands-down.
Everyone needs to check out chucknorrisfacts.com, one of the funniest sites I’ve ran across in awhile. Some facts from the Top Ten list:
- 11. There is no chin behind Chuck Norris’ beard. There is only another fist.
- 6. Chuck Norris has counted to infinity. Twice.
- 2. Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits.
- 1. Chuck Norris’ tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried. Ever.
I just got my invite to Windows Live Mail Beta. Microsoft has been moving to a Web-based platform for the last couple of months. I’ve been messing with Windows Live Messenger Beta for a couple weeks, and it’s a nice improvement over the poor MSN Messenger [I have invitations if anyone wants one - 1 left 5 left].
Windows Live Mail Beta is a great improvement over free Hotmail. Live Mail has an Exchange-like feel, with a clean, simplistic UI [features list]. The server response is very quick, and ads don’t run amuck as they do in Hotmail [this may change with the public release]. The mail search is about as accurate as MSN search, which I don’t like.
I like Live Mail as an upgrade to Hotmail, but it doesn’t beat GMail, even after Microsoft upgraded storage capacity to 2GB. But I’ll still give it a shot as a spam mail account.

Mark Jenkins has a new Street Installation: Meter Pops. I wish DC wasn’t so far away.

I ran across this video on Google Video. In July ‘05, the Oklahoma Full Auto Gun Shoot took place. I didn’t know so many people possessed so much weaponry.
